Fourth Annual Good Neighbor Awards

In February 2018, Allegheny Financial Group announced the recipients of its fourth annual Good Neighbor Awards. The ten award recipients include Anchorpoint Counseling Ministry, Avalon Public Library, Girls on the Run programs at Avalon and Bellevue Elementary Schools, HEARTH, North Hills Art Center, North Hills Food Bank, Northgate School District, North Hills Community Outreach, Shaler North Hills Library, and Winchester Thurston School.

Third Annual Good Neighbor Awards

In March 2017, Allegheny Financial Group announced the recipients of its third annual Good Neighbor Awards. The eight award recipients included Avalon Public Library, Girls on the Run programs at Avalon and Bellevue Elementary Schools, HEARTH, North Hills Art Center, North Boroughs YMCA, North Hills Food Bank, Northgate School District, and North Hills Community Outreach. The awards provide funding for specific projects at each organization as well as general operating expenses.

Guardian Angels Medical Service Dogs

In November 2015, Allegheny Financial Group announced a donation for the purchase of three Guardian Angels Medical Service Dogs for Pittsburgh-area veterans who are suffering from disabilities such as Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Traumatic Brain Injury. A check was presented by Allegheny Financial Group partners at the 17th Annual Veterans Day Breakfast held at Duquesne University.

The Veterans Leadership Program of Western Pennsylvania has launched a campaign with the goal to raise funds for the purchase of 22 Service Dogs over a period of 22 months through a partnership with Guardian Angels Medical Service Dogs Inc. of Williston, FL. The purchase and training of one life-changing certified service dog is $22,000. A matching grant pledged by the Pittsburgh Foundation will cover funding needed for additional service dogs.

Annual Food Drive

Every December, Allegheny Financial Group employees collect food, household items, and monetary donations for an annual food drive benefiting North Hills Food Bank.

Dreammaker Recognition

Allegheny Financial Group is proud to support HEARTH’S mission to provide a range of supportive services and housing that empowers families who are survivors of domestic violence to become independent, self-sufficient and adequately housed, to break the cycle of homelessness. In July 2015, Allegheny was recognized at HEARTH’s 20th Anniversary/Dreammaker Recognition event at the Mayernik Center.
